I’m a recently a new catecumen up in Alaska at Holy Transfiguration Greek Orthodox Church and this is my first year fasting and I’m glad I got a chance to listen to podcast. When my priest first told me about fasting and what was restricted I didn’t think it would be all that hard, but the one thing I have found is that no matter how much I eat that isn’t restricted, I’m always hungry and as a result your hunger points you toward God. I feel hunger physically and it reminds me of my spiritual hunger for Christ. Prior to becoming an Orthodox Catecumen allot of people would talk about being spiritually hungry, but I dint think I really knew what it was like to be spiritually hungry until I felt what it was like to be physically hungry. Fasting has also been extremely humbling and has a great ability to teach one humility. Fasting isn’t easy it is challanging, but so that is the nature of faith in the living God and for that I praise God.
Blessings,
Craig
Hey guys,
Just a shout out from Australia love your show! There are many churches here because the is a large amount of Greeks in Victoria. As for your sources there is no place called New Queensland but we have two separate states called New South Whales and Queensland so I’m not sure what was going on. Also sorry Turbo about your 200$ we are so care free and easy going that sometimes we forget to pay people
