Not Sure What to Call it

Title: Not Sure What to Call it

Generation Orthodox Podcast, The Future of Christianity in America. This week: The girls got sick this week so it was a boys night plus Calee. We meet Josh and hear his story how he came to the Orthodox church from pentecostalism in Kansas. Basically, Turbo tattooed him into the faith! Turbo has been studying for school and just finished a paper on Sacramentalism. And Jake and Calee have been sick and watching tv, namly, the Lewis Black special with Starbucks at the end of the world.

This week we talk movies and mention:

  1. I just started downloading the Generation Orthodox podcasts, and this was actually the first full episode that I listened to. I am a convert to Orthodoxy from Evangelical Protestantism (a pastor’s daughter, in fact). I am the only Christian in my undergrad classes, the only Orthodox Christian among my entirely Protestant friends and family, and the only person my age in our parish. I thank God for guiding me to Orthodoxy, but get frustrated because I didn’t sign up for the whole isolation thing.

All that to say, listening to these podcasts has been amazingly refreshing, because I finally hear stories that I can relate to and I feel somewhat less…anomalous.

    And the swag? Very cool.

  2. Texas is a little more than cowboy boots and ranches. Ever been to Houston?
